Instead of paying a fortune for the perfect outfit that your daughter will only wear once for pictures or a special occasion, borrow from our boutique and designer collection. At the Borrowed Boutique we are always looking for amazing brands to add to our rental collection. Please let us know your favorites. If we love them too we may just add them to our selections. Head to our SHOP tab to peruse our current brands.
It’s oh so easy! Browse our inventory by brand, size, or category. Choose your favorite dress and accessories, and then reserve them by putting in your zip code and then selecting your reservation date and either a 4 or 8-day rental period.
Day 1: Your items will arrive
Day 2: You can play with your accessories and make sure everything looks just right!
Day 3: The day has arrived to show off your look! Smile for the camera
Day 4: Return your items using the original re-usable packaging materials and the prepaid shipping label. If you have selected the 8 day rental option then everything stays the same above except that you can keep on smiling on days 4, 5, 6, and 7. Then simply place your items in the mail by the end of day 8. If you are local to the Indianapolis, IN area take advantage of our pick up/drop off option.
You choose a rental period of 4 or 8 days. If you find that your rental period is too short please contact us as soon as possible and we will see if we can accommodate a longer rental period. If your return date has come and gone then you will be charged a late fee, but we may still be able to extend your rental time. We understand that photo shoot dates can change last minute due to weather and while it is not guaranteed that we will be able to extend your dates, we will do our best to accommodate you.
Making your reservation early helps ensure that you will have access to all of your first choices, including access to one of a kind and hard to find pieces. Since some of our inventory is available in limited sizes and quantities reserving early is always a good idea. We allow reservations as early as 6 months in advance. If you need items last minute, don’t worry! We are sure to have some amazing options available for you and are happy to accommodate next day shipping for an additional fee. Our system will automatically calculate this upgraded shipping fee for you.
We make shipping easy. We will ship your items via our preferred shipping partner, UPS. Using our preferred provider guarantees that your items will arrive on time. While this might add a couple of dollars to the overall shipping fee compared to using other postal services, we have found that it brings significant peace of mind using carriers that we can trust. Returns are easy too. Simply place your items back in the reusable shipping packaging provided. We provide the prepaid shipping label. Then drop your package at a UPS store (ask for a receipt), UPS drop box (if your items will fit), or you can even schedule a pick up at your home or work place. You don’t need to clean anything. We take care of cleaning.
The Borrowed Boutique takes care of inspecting and having each outfit professionally spotted and cleaned between each use. All clothing and hair accessories are either dry-cleaned, wet washed, hand washed, and/or steamed by our cleaning partners. Please do not try to spot an item prior to returning. We have experts on hand who do an amazing job!
Although all of our items are steamed or pressed prior to arriving on your doorstep, they may get a wrinkle or crease here or there. Because many of the materials on our dresses are very fragile please read the tag instructions. Steaming is the best option to remove wrinkles from many of the delicate items we offer. Items made from cotton and silk may be ironed on a low heat. Please do not iron any sequins or other embellishments or any items made from tulle because this may result in scorching or melting.
Returns are easy with our prepaid return label and reusable shipping materials. Simply place your items back in the bag or box with the shipping label attached and drop it off at the associated carrier drop box or location.
Life gets busy. We understand that sometimes time can get away from the best of us. Unfortunately, because we run a business with a tight turn around time we do need our items returned. We try to make things easy by including return packaging and a prepaid shipping label that lets you simply throw your items back in the mail or corresponding postal carrier drop box. If you forget or are unable to return your items you will be subject to a $50 late fee for each day that your items are returned late. Please see our terms for more details.
It happens. In the shuffle of traveling, special occasions, weddings, and events, sometimes things are left behind or lost. If this happens please let us know as soon as possible on or prior to your return shipping date just in case someone else is expecting that item to arrive. All lost items will be subject to a non-return fee in an amount up to but not exceeding 200% of the market or retail value of the item(s) as determined by the Borrowed Boutique. We’ve got you covered. We understand that little girls will be wearing these items, and accidents do happen. Our $5 insurance plan protects you from more than typical wear and tear. Our insurance coverage protects for any and all sequins or beading coming off (YEP!), small stains, snags or tears at the seams. We have amazing cleaners and a seamstress on hand to address these issues. In the event that an item is damaged beyond repair you will be charged up to 200% of the market or retail value of the item depending on the replacement cost. Since these are rented items we ask that you treat them with care, but full strands of beads may come loose. If this happens please send back any loose items in a zip lock bag with your items. If you choose to waive our insurance and an item is damaged you will be charged the actual amount to have the item repaired or re-beaded.
We provide shipping tracking information for all of your items so that you can keep an eye on their arrival times. We understand the stress of items arriving late or not at all and that is why we have chosen our trusted shipping partner, UPS. This shipping partner guarantees that your items will arrive on time barring no weather limitations. If for some reason they don’t show up when expected please let us know IMMEDIATELY. Or, if they have been damaged in route please contact us immediately so that we can send you a replacement. Please open your items the same day that they arrive.
